Farmers Market Truck Driver
The Farmers Market Driver Position is a part time position starting in June 2023. Workdays are Saturdays and include loading the farmers market truck, driving to market, working a full farmers market shift and driving back to the farm to unload and clean up from the farmers’ market. This position can also be combined with the part-time harvest crew position, and/or the delivery driver position to create a full-time position. This position runs June - November with the option to continue working markets through the winter (December - April).
Roles and Responsibilities:
Safely loading, unloading, and driving a large box truck comfortably and with confidence.
Setting up farmers market booth including produce displays and other market infrastructure with other market staff.
Handling of a variety of produce throughout the season.
Answering customer questions about produce and services or refering customer to appropriate staff as needed.
Maintaining excellent relationships with customers.
Communicating any quality or order discrepancies to farm owners as needed.
Keeping vehicles clean including unloading vehicles at end of workday and reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
Schedule: Saturdays 5am-3:30pm June - November. Winter market work available for those interested.
General Requirements for all Positions:
Have dependable transportation and the ability to get to work on time.
Have a working cell phone for communications.
Be able to follow instructions and pay attention to details.
Be able to commit to staying the duration of the season.
Be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Be able to perform manual weather in all weather conditions (rain, heat, snow etc.)
Be able to keep a positive attitude, even amid challenges.
Respect for all staff and appreciate their work and contributions.
Self-motivation to do a quality job in an efficient way.
Keep track of speed of work and strive for efficiency.
Work well with others and have experience working as part of a team.
Ask for additional information if directions seem inadequate or unclear.

Skills and Qualifications
Clean driving record
Experience driving large delivery type vehicles
Customer service experience…you need to like other people!
Excellent time management skills

Compensation: $16-$17/hr (DOE), access to farm produce, wholesale pricing on other farm products (meat and value-added products). $500 gear and wellness stipend available after successful completion of one month of employment. End of season bonus. $20 per market in vegetable trade with other vendors.
