PART TIME HARVEST CREW
Seeking a detail-oriented and efficient person to join our harvest crew two days per week during our main growing season (May-November, approximately 500 total hours). This position focuses on harvesting and packing produce for our CSA program and restaurant deliveries. The ideal candidate will have experience handling produce with care and attention to quality. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in farming who wants to maintain other work or commitments while gaining experience on a production farm.

Hours/Schedule
Main Season (June-October):
Mondays and Thursdays: 7:00am-4:30pm
Spring/Fall (May & November):
Mondays and Thursdays: 8:00am-4:30pm
Position Period: Flexible start and end date, must be able to start by June 1st and work through November 30th.
2025 Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay:
Starting wage: $18.52/hour (Our starting minimum wage is based on the Living Wage calculated for a household with 2 working adults, no children in the Portland Metro Area)
Performance bonus (paid at season end)
Cost of Living Annual raise for returning employees (we use the CPI to estimate COLA)

Roles and Responsibilities
Harvest and Quality Control
Harvest diverse vegetable crops efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Follow specific harvest protocols for different crops
Communicate crop observations to harvest manager
Post Harvest Handling
Assist with wash/pack station setup and cleanup
Follow specific pack protocols for different crops and outlets
Handle produce with care during harvest and post-harvest processes
Organization & Equipment Maintenance
Keep accurate harvest records
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Follow food safety protocols
Help maintain harvest equipment and tools
General Requirements
Essential Requirements:
Have reliable transportation and arrive with enough time (at least 10 minutes early) to change into work gear and be ready to start at shift time.
Have a working cell phone for communications
Commit to working both harvest days each week through the season

Be able to follow detailed instructions and maintain attention to detail
Maintain a positive attitude, even amid challenges
Self-motivated to do quality work efficiently
Physical Demands:
Be physically fit and able to lift 35 lbs. Repeatedly with occasional 50 lbs.
Work efficiently in all weather conditions (rain, heat, snow etc.)
Team & Communication:
Respect all staff and appreciate their work and contributions
Work well independently and as part of a team
Proactively seek clarification if any instructions are unclear
Responsive to feedback from supervisors and co-workers
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
One season full-time production vegetable farming experience or equivalent
Bonus Skills (not required):
Restaurant, farmers market, or grocery store experience
